I used to struggle through life, merely surviving in my day to day life. This feeling and situation would continue on for years. I would envy others who seemed to have such full and amazing lives - those with beautiful homes, in a happy relationship with their dream person, working a job that they loved, traveling to the most beautiful places. I always assumed that these people were lucky - that they had something that I didn’t that allowed them to live such dreamy lives.
Meanwhile, I was struggling to get any type of decent job, would lifelessly go through my day, and would hit the snooze button on my alarm clock every morning because I did not want to get up.
When I think about that person, I hold such compassion for her. She just didn’t know that there were other ways of being, other ways of living that didn’t involve anything magical.
Over the years, as I slowly started to learn more about holistic health and wellness, and then other positive psychology tools, as well as the power of hard work, determination, and consistency, I started to notice a shift in the way I was living my life.
I started enjoying my life, and pretty soon I was in a place where I was excited to go to bed so that I could wake up the next morning.
